What about SIKU Control 32 RC Vehicles?

The main alternative to building your own radio controlled tractors or lorries is of course to buy a SIKU Control 32. Here is a quick list of SIKU Control 32 models to give you an idea of what’s out there:

  •  SIKU 6761 – John Deere 8430T
  •  SIKU 6880 – Fendt 939
  •  SIKU 6882 – Claas Axion 850
  •  SIKU 6881 – John Deere 8345R
  •  SIKU 6769 – Fendt 939 with front loader
  •  SIKU 6721 – MAN Truck with low loader
  •  SIKU 6725 – Scania R620 with a halfpipe tipping trailer

In some cases it is much better value to invest in a SIKU control 32 vehcile such as the Fendt 939 which is only €99 and that includes a controller. Remember that the Fendt 936 cost me around €85 to build and that doesn’t include the controller. However it is worth noting that you can’t buy a Fendt 936 and if you are looking for a specific tractor or truck then you might have no choice but make your own.

Be careful when buying your SIKU model though, not all SIKU Control 32 tractors come with a controller so make sure you check with the shop or your supplier before you make your purchase. An example of this is on the SIKU website the radio controlled John Deere 8430T on its own cost €199 or in a set with a controller costs €239 so make sure to do your homework first. It would be very disappointing to get your rc vehicle and not be able to use it.

Personally I’m happier with one I’ve built myself simply because I’ve built it myself and in doing so I can easily modify it later or customise its software to suit some accessory I might build later. I enjoy working with electronics, have a reasonable amount of experience with hobby level electronics and have boxes full of components so that might be another reason for my preference.

If you’ve any questions let us know on the RC Tractors Forum and if you’re looking for radio controlled tractors or even static models check out the amazon store on our site, a percentage of your purchase goes to the running costs of the site.
